Expertise separates every connector action into two kinds:
  • Reads: searching records, listing meetings, reading email, running reports. These run immediately, without asking.
  • Writes: sending a message, creating or updating a CRM record, deleting anything, posting content. These pause and show you an approval card in chat before anything happens.

What an approval looks like

When Expertise wants to make a change, you’ll see a card describing exactly what it’s about to do: the tool, the target, and the content or field values. Nothing runs until you click Approve. Decline and Expertise adjusts or drops the action.
Approvals also apply to scheduled tasks. If a scheduled run needs to send an email or update a record, it queues the approval and can notify you in Slack so you can approve from there.

What’s always write-gated

Across every integration, these classes of action always require approval: Some connectors are read-only by design (Gong, ZoomInfo, Granola, tl;dv, PostHog), they have no write tools at all.

Rate protection

Outbound email and LinkedIn actions are additionally throttled to protect your sender reputation and account standing, independent of approvals.
