What you can ask
“Find the repo for our billing service.”
“What’s in config/settings.py on the main branch?”
“List open pull requests on acme/billing-service.”
“Summarize what changed in PR #482.”
“Open an issue for the login timeout bug in acme/web.” (asks for approval first)
Connecting
- Open Connections in the dashboard and click GitHub → Connect.
- Sign in to your GitHub account and approve the requested access.
- Ask Expertise about a repository to confirm it’s live.
Tools
Good to know
- Name repos as
owner/repo. If you just name a project, Expertise searches for it first and confirms the match before acting. - Creating an issue or assigning labels needs push access on the target repository through your connected account.
- Every issue or comment pauses for your approval before it’s posted, nothing gets created or commented on without you confirming it first.
Troubleshooting
GitHub shows connected but Expertise can't find a repo

Reconnect from the Connections tile, the GitHub token may have expired,
or the account connected doesn’t have access to that repository.

Check that the connected GitHub account has push access to the target
repository, issue creation and labeling both require it.
