Connect Outlook and Expertise can work your inbox and calendar together: find messages, summarize threads, prepare drafts, and check or change your schedule. Reads are instant; anything that sends mail or touches your calendar pauses for your approval first.

What you can ask

“Anything important in my inbox from the last two days?”
“Find the last email from jane@acme.com and summarize it.”
“Draft a follow-up to yesterday’s demo, keep it short, propose Thursday.”
“What’s on my calendar tomorrow?”
“Book a 30-minute call with jane@acme.com Thursday afternoon, with a Teams link.” (asks for approval first)

Connecting

  1. Open Connections in the dashboard and click Microsoft Outlook → Connect.
  2. Sign in with your Microsoft account and approve the requested access.
  3. Ask Expertise to check your inbox or calendar to confirm it’s live.
You can disconnect from the Connections page any time, or revoke access under your Microsoft account’s app permissions.

Good to know

  • Drafts are always safe. Creating a draft never delivers mail, so Expertise creates drafts directly without an approval. Sends always show an approval card with the recipient, subject, and body first.
  • One recipient per send. Outlook sends go out one at a time to a single primary recipient, bulk blasts through a pasted recipient list aren’t supported.
  • Calendar changes affect other people. Creating, moving, or deleting an event with attendees notifies them, so Expertise restates what will happen before doing it and confirms date, time, and time zone if your request was ambiguous.
  • One Microsoft account, both mail and calendar. Connecting Outlook once covers both your inbox and your calendar, there’s nothing separate to connect.

Troubleshooting

Reconnect from the Connections tile, the Microsoft token likely expired or the original sign-in was abandoned midway.
Check chat for a pending approval card, these wait indefinitely for your approval and run the moment you approve.
