Connect Google Docs and Expertise can pull docs into a conversation, draft new ones, and make precise edits without you leaving chat. Reads are instant; creating a doc or editing one pauses for your approval first.

Connecting

  1. Open Connections in the dashboard and click Google Docs → Connect.
  2. Sign in with Google and approve the requested access.
  3. Ask Expertise to find a doc to confirm it’s live.
You can disconnect from the Connections page any time, or revoke access under your Google Account’s Security → Third-party access.

Good to know

  • Naming a doc is enough. Say “the Acme account plan” and Expertise searches your Drive first, shows you the matching doc, and confirms before reading or editing the wrong one.
  • Markdown becomes real formatting. Headings, bullet lists, tables, and links you write in chat turn into proper Google Docs formatting when Expertise creates a doc.
  • Every write pauses for your approval, the approval card shows exactly what will be created, appended, or replaced before it happens.

Troubleshooting

Search matches on title text, recency, starred status, and shared-with-me, try naming the doc more precisely, or share it with the connected Google account if it lives in someone else’s Drive.
Reconnect from the Connections tile, the Google token likely expired or the original sign-in was abandoned midway.
