What you can ask
“Find the contact for jane@acme.com and show me her open deals.”
“How many deals are in the Negotiation stage right now?”
“Log a note on the Acme deal summarizing today’s call.”
“Enroll jane@acme.com in the Q3 nurture sequence.” (asks for approval first)
“Create a ticket for the Acme onboarding issue and assign it to support.” (asks for approval first)
Connecting
- Open Connections in the dashboard and click HubSpot → Connect.
- Sign in to your HubSpot account and approve the requested scopes.
- Ask Expertise something about a contact or deal to confirm it’s live.
Tools
Good to know
- Dropdowns and stages need exact values. HubSpot properties like deal stage, lifecycle stage, or priority use internal option values, not just the label you see in the UI. Expertise looks these up before writing so an update doesn’t get silently rejected, if a value can’t be resolved, it asks you to pick from the real options instead of guessing.
- One bad field fails the whole update. HubSpot rejects a multi-property write entirely if any single value is invalid, so Expertise only sends fields it’s confident about.
- Sequences and custom channels need extra scopes. Core contact, company, deal, and ticket tools work out of the box; sequence enrollment and custom channels may need a reconnect with those features turned on.
- Every write pauses for your approval, the approval card shows the exact record and field values before anything is saved.
Troubleshooting
A property update seems to have been ignored
A property update seems to have been ignored
HubSpot enumerated fields (dropdowns, stages, priorities) require internal
option values. If Expertise couldn’t resolve the value you asked for, it
should have asked you to choose from the real options, check chat for
that question before assuming the write failed silently.
Sequence enrollment or custom channel messaging isn't working

These features require additional HubSpot scopes beyond core CRM access.
